In October 2009, Messiah Lutheran Church, opened Messiah LCFDC. As our church partner, Messiah operates the childcare center at its location, while LCFDC provides childcare quality expertise and consultation, training, and family support . Messiah Lighthouse is a licensed and accredited childcare facility eligible to serve 48 full-time children ages 0-6 years.
The Musgrave Foundation
Imagine being able to touch the lives of people you’ll never know 10 years…50 years…even 100 years after your death. That is precisely what Jeannette L. Musgrave did with the formation of her Foundation in 1983. From its inception to date in 2011, the Musgrave Foundation has awarded grants more than $18 million to selected charities, primarily in Greene and the immediate surrounding counties in Missouri. Those who knew Jeannette say there were three primary areas for which she felt deep commitment: underprivileged children, nursing scholarships, and economic assistance for the elderly. Mrs. Musgrave believed in providing a “hand up, not a hand out.” The Musgrave Foundation was a founding supporter of Lighthouse Child & Family Development Center and gave continuously for 15 years as a close partner.
